May 28th PENTECOST

Conversations:

Share your highs and lows, or respond to the following:

  1. Share an experience you have had with wind or with fire.

  2. What do you know about the Holy Spirit

Bible Readings: 1st reading Acts 2:1-21 The Holy Spirit comes 2nd reading 1 Corinthians 12:3b-13 Unity and diversity in the body Gospel reading John 20:19-23 Jesus appears to the disciples

Discuss: When God gave the gift of the Holy Spirit to the first Christians on the day of Pentecost, a strong wind came from heaven and tongues of fire came to rest on them (Acts 2:1-21). How were the believers changed?

Action Response: 1 Corinthians 12:7 we learn that the Holy Spirit gives us gifts to use to help all people. Have a discussion about how members of your household are using their God-given gifts for the sake of others.

Prayer: Spirit of God, please work in us today. Please use our gifts to bless others. Amen.

Mealtime Prayer: Come, Spirit of God and be our guest, our table to grace and our food to bless. Amen.

Blessing: May the Holy Spirit fill you with peace and joy.

Verse of the Week: BUT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED. ACTS 2:21
